A raised rim encloses this circular piece, where a central rosette sits inside a ring and four large lobes filled with flowing wave and paisley shapes spread toward the edge. The motion of the waves gives the design a sense of movement that is unusual for a mandala. Eight layers build up the rim and lobes into a shallow, bowl-like relief.
