A little wooden house with 24 real drawers and a snowy multilayer roof with a red bow, a green wreath and a gold star on top. This original design by Decorartes is a complete laser cut file for an Advent calendar: cut it, glue it together, and every drawer pulls out to hide a little treat.
An Advent calendar is a Christmas tradition for counting down the days to Christmas. From December 1 to December 24 you open one numbered drawer each day and find a small surprise inside, like a chocolate, a candy, a tiny toy or a sweet note. Made of wood, it can be refilled and reused every year, and the rest of the time it is a festive decoration for a mantel or a shelf.
The calendar comes in two complete sets, one for 3 mm sheets and one for 6 mm sheets, with the slots and finger joints made for each thickness. The 3 mm version measures 23.5 x 38.1 x 5.6 cm and each drawer holds about 4.3 x 3.8 x 3.6 cm; the 6 mm version measures 25 x 41 x 6.5 cm. The house, its inner grid and the 24 drawers fit together with finger joints and slots, the drawers have red and green front plates with raised numbers, and the roof is built from six glued layers that stand in two slots on top of the house. Every joint was checked in 3D so no part collides with another.
You can make it bigger by scaling all the pieces together, by the same percentage and with the proportions locked. Because the slots grow with the scale, the sheet must grow in the same proportion: the 3 mm files at 200% need a 6 mm sheet, for example. Never scale only one piece or only one direction.
The ZIP includes 12 cutting sheets of 279 x 279 mm for 3 mm and 11 sheets of 300 x 300 mm for 6 mm, every sheet as SVG, DXF, DWG, AI, PDF and EPS, an illustrated step-by-step assembly guide in English and in Spanish, a parts guide for each set and README files. The product photos are 3D renders made from these exact files.
