Here a lotus opens at the base of a square frame, while an open lattice of curving arches rises above it like a garden window. The flower reaches past the lower edge of the frame, so the composition breaks out of its border. Lattice, frame and petals sit on separate planes within the 6 layers, giving the piece a sculptural quality.
It looks wonderful above a console, in an entryway or in a spa. Because the lattice is open, consider mounting it slightly off the wall on small spacers; the shadows it casts become part of the decoration.
