A pointed four-ray star sits at the center of this cross, whose arms are built from rounded, overlapping lobes. Arching mandala bands curve behind it inside an upright frame with a dotted border, so the cross seems to rise out of a carved arcade. The lobes take on a pillowy, carved appearance from the 8 stacked layers, with strong shadows pooling between the arches.
