Johannes Vermeer painted Girl with a Pearl Earring around 1665 in Delft: a young woman in a blue and yellow turban turns to look over her shoulder, lips slightly parted, a large pearl gleaming at her ear against a dark background. Often called the Mona Lisa of the North, it hangs in the Mauritshuis in The Hague. This multilayer design by Decorartes is based on that public-domain painting and made for laser cutting.

It is built from 5 layers of 3 mm wood: black on top, then blue, ochre yellow and skin tone, over a solid white backing. Each deeper layer shows through the cut-outs of the layers above, so the turban, the face and the pearl stand out with real depth. Every layer is one single connected piece, and all layers share the same outer frame and the same edges, so they line up exactly when glued and no color peeks out between them.

At 200 x 300 mm, or roughly 7.9 by 11.8 inches in portrait orientation, it fits standard laser beds. You may enlarge it freely, scaling all five layers by the same amount, but should not cut it smaller, because its finest lines are 1.3 mm wide.

The ZIP includes every layer as SVG, DXF, DWG, AI, PDF and EPS, an assembled preview with the five colored layers stacked, an alignment check file, preview images and a README with the colors and the assembly steps.
