The clay dolls are the inspiration for the digital font Dingbat Vitalino designed by Brazilian graphic designers Victor Santos and Vinicius Lira. The symbols were created from the synthesis of elements found in the photographs of Mestre Vitalino’s works.
About Mestre Vitalino
Famous for his sculptures with clay, Vitalino Pereira dos Santos better known as Mestre Vitalino, was born in Caruaru in the State of Pernambuco. The craftsman started his career at the age of 8 years in 1910, moulding clay.
What started for fun, 40 years later would make him worldwide famous, when he displayed his work abroad for the first time. Since then his works have been displayed all around the world.
Although he died in the 1960s, his art still inspire many craftsman who have studios in Alto do Moura. His work can be appreciated at the Casa-Museu Mestre Vitalino
