Introducing Vine Craft, a special edition of my Typeface Vine *, born from the art of letterpress printing. Vine Craft is packed with alternates, typographic ornaments, and multilingual support. It also gave origin to the collections of patterns featured here at our store.
Vine’s design is a contemporary interpretation of the humanist sans serif. With a natural, friendly feel, and upright stance, the flow and flexibility of its stems are reminiscent of a curve in a tree branch, a wave, or a calligrapher’s dancing hand.
Combined with semi-condensed proportions and the consistency of its flat and pointy endings, Vine still looks as if it’s standing tall and firm despite its organic design. Its big x-height and clear forms create a perfect balance between expressiveness and legibility, making it a flexible option for its users.
Applications
From fine print stationery to joyful books, branding, specialty labels, and packaging, Vine Craft will warm up your layouts with its soothing, friendly voice and expand your possibilities with alternate characters and unique ornaments made with the letters from the font itself.
Vine Craft is my very first font release. It has been quite a complex design to tackle as an initial project, and it took me years to arrive at this moment. Still, thanks to the incredible support of generous mentors and friends, it is proudly coming to the world now.
