The Essential Collection from Peregrine is the baseline editing pack that started everything. This Wedding Preset pack was designed to have a slightly moody look, while also providing simple edits that aren’t overdone. Intended to be used as a base layer for editing and workable in a variety of lighting situations and locations.

All files are in .xmp and are intended for Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Lightroom Classic, and Adobe Camera RAW. Mobile Presets are included in each collection for Adobe Lightroom Mobile.

Included Presets

01 – Classic

The preset is designed to work in nearly all situations and features warm skin tones, deep shadows, punchy blacks, and brighter highlights. When using this preset, it’s important to know that this preset is developed for shooting underexposed. You will likely need to either shoot underexposed or drop your exposure on your images for the settings to look their best.

02 – Muted Highlights

The key for this preset is it’s latitude for customization. This preset highlights a reduced saturation in green and also a flatter, but malleable highlight of the midtones, which means that the skin and environmental texture can be adjusted for mood and feeling based on the lighting.

03 – Vivid

This preset incorporates more color and is designed to be used in open shade, backlit, sunset, or with direct flash. With bold, vivid colors, it stands out as a unique look.

04 – Bold

This preset is the deepest, most contrasty of the entire set. It’s great for dramatic lighting situations or if you want to emphasize the depth of the blacks and shadows. If the shadows are blacks are too deep, it’s a quick fix, just bring those colors up and you’re back on level ground. Of course, the skin tones are still strong, and there is a gentle mix of cool and warmth in the highlights and shadows.

05 – B&W (Classic)

Of the three black and white presets in the pack, this one is the one we go to most often. With 05, there is a subtle, softness with the preset that results in muted tones. The result is cinematic and deep, without feeling flattened out and crushed.

06 – B&W (Lifted Shadows)

Punchy without being overwhelming; elegant without feeling forced. This preset increase the overall brightness of an image and results in a punchier photo with the focus being brought to the subject due to the highs/lows of the black and whites.

07 – B&W (Cinematic)

08 – Cinematic

With softened highlights and a certain boldness in the depth of blacks, this preset is a more moody, dramatic preset that can be used in darker lighting conditions—overcast light, rain, and sunset.

09 – Inspired by Film

This preset was inspired by classic film stocks. With a soft hue of magenta in the highlights, this preset is warm, inviting, and an easy look to round out the collection.

10 – Shaurai

This preset is gentle, with warmer tones and a gentle tone curve, this look is intended to be true to life, while leaning on warmth. Warmer tones (green, yellow, orange) lean more warm, and cooler tones (blue, aqua) tend more towards blue, providing a balance that is subtle and complex.

11 – Pietu

This is the most stylized look in the entire collection, with a strong yellow split tone, this preset has warmth and character and will let you build a unique look for editorial and elopements alike.

12 – Pietu ALT

Although built from the same bones, this alternative preset looks nothing like it’s predecessor. With tones that lean more blue and magenta, this look is more true-to-life while still offering a stylized, cinematic focus.
