Brown Paper Crown is an unorthodox display font, inspired by an image I had in my head of a medieval scribe who’d partaken a bit too much of the communion wine. Or perhaps of a signwriter swaying in the breeze up his wooden ladder, trying to keep his paintbrush steady.
Being a bit bougie (and a little bit boozy) this font is perfect for… well, probably not a lot. But it’s cool and I think you’re going to buy it (and love it!) anyway…
Most font designers hate seeing their fonts messed with. Bah. I say, ‘mess away to your heart’s content!’ This font is intentionally completely mono-linear, so feel free to lop bits off, glue bits back on, stretch it, trace it, etc etc etc. Just match the pen tool width in Illustrator (pro-tip: this font at 90pt is equal to a stroke width of approximately 5.7898pt), outline stroke, wiggle anchor points about… anyway, you get the idea. Have fun with it!
