B&W filters presets description.
To use filters for black and white photography, you need to think differently.
A filter will lighten any colour that is similar to its own, and darken other colours. A red filter, for instance, will make a red post box show as almost white, and a blue sky as almost black, as the relevant colours are either transmitted or absorbed. Green filters are popular for lightening foliage or grass, and blue filters are often used to enhance skin tones and texture for portraiture, as they will darken pinks and reds.

GREEN #58 | Green Filter is used to control contrast in black and white film. This filter is ideal for scenes where it is important to differentiate the green tonal values in black and white photography. It produces light foliage on black and white film. It is also used for contrast effects (lightens green/darkens red).
DARK BLUE #47 | Dark Blue 47 filter accentuates haze and fog. Many times photographer wants to get rid of natural haze and fog and bring clarity to the image.
However, there are times when it is desirable to enhance such effects.
YELLOW #08 | Darkens sky, cloud and foliage to reproduce correct tones. Helps
to increase contrast when working outdoors by suppressing blue and other cool tones.
The medium yellow of the color results in a darkening of blues and greens, while lightening yellows, reds, and other warm tones, in order to produce a more naturally appearing outdoor scene.
DEEP YELLOW #15 | Deep yellow filter is commonly used for a noticeable increase in contrast with black and white films. Increases contrast between cloud and sky greater than yellow#08, for over-correction effect.
RED #25 | Ideal for strong contrast improvement since it absorbs green and blue completely and enhances red. In addition to contrast control, red filters enhance skin tones, tonal corrections and are effective for more dramatic landscapes.
DEEP RED #29 | Deep Red Filter is used to control contrast in black and white film. This filter produces extremely pronounced contrast, more than a #25 Red.
ORANGE #21 | Designed to build contrast in black and white photography and creates separation between the tones. The filter absorbs blue and blue-green colors, rendering blues darker such as for skies in landscape or aerial photos and water in marine shots. Great for landscape, marine or aerial photos.
BLUE-GREEN #44 | Blue-green #44 is a filter for reducing the amount of red light from reaching the film or sensor. Blue-green filter reduces the amount of red light. In addition to a black and white contrast filter, it can be used as a viewing filter for 2-color applications.
