The name of the holiday comes from the word Samhain, which means “end of summer”.
At the moment, the most popular celebration of Halloween is in the USA, Canada, Ireland and Great Britain.
The ancient Celts, who lived in the territory of modern Great Britain, divided the hour into two parts, light and dark. When the dark part (winter) replaced the light (summer), they arranged festivities.
There is a tradition of asking for sweets. Children put on a costume, take special buckets in the shape of “Jack the lantern” and go from house to house shouting Treat or trick!
