Christmas trees can be fresh-cut, potted, or artificial and are used as both indoor and outdoor decorations.
People in many ancient cultures believed that the Sun God became pale and frail during winter and that is why we had the winter solstice. Evergreen trees reminded them of the plants that would grow once more when the sun god recovered.

The legend also has that after the birth of Jesus Christ in the winter season, some of the trees shook off the snow and turned green to mark the great event. Thus, the Christmas tree represents permanence and immortality.

Some of these adjectives can be used to describe a Christmas tree (“colorful”, “sparkly”, “massive”) while others cannot (“fast”, “bouncy”, “sharp”).
