An ATS is what? These computer programs were developed to facilitate the recruitment process. They are made to assist businesses in quickly sorting through countless resumes and identifying the most qualified applicants for a specific job. Your resume is ranked by an ATS based on how closely it matches the job requirements after being scanned for certain keywords and phrases found in the job posting. Although ATS algorithms can differ, they all depend on the same thing: pertinent keywords.

Given that, it’s critical to comprehend the effect that an ATS may have on your resume and your chances of being contacted for an interview. When creating your resume, bear the following in mind:

1. Tailor your resume to the job posting: Tailoring your resume to each individual job posting is the best method to ensure that it gets past the ATS. Consider carefully reading the job description before adding pertinent keywords to your CV. This doesn’t entail verbatim copying of the job description, but rather tailoring your expertise and skills to the demands of the position.

2. As was already mentioned, ATS algorithms evaluate your resume for pertinent keywords. Include any pertinent keywords you can find throughout your resume, but try to avoid packing them in or utilizing them excessively.

3. Keep it brief: Generally speaking, a resume should not exceed two pages.
